As part of a large healthcare development (in conjunction with Llewelyn Davies as Lead Architects), Hermantes Studio have designed a Private Patients’ Ward whose facilities aim to match the environment & aesthetic to the aspirations of the clientele, by providing a ‘First Class’ healthcare experience.
Private Ensuite Bedrooms retain the same footprint as the standard Inpatient bedrooms but afford some enhanced wall finishes, joinery and fittings, with a higher level of concealed clinical services particularly around the bedhead and clinical WHB spaces.
Contributing to patient & staff wellbeing and recovery and the benefit that adoption of salutogenic design can bring, all Inpatients Bedrooms have been located to benefit from fantastic far-reaching views of the coastline and the surrounding natural environment.
General materiality offers a cost-conscious palette with darker timber laminates and enriched finishes and fittings. The private area allows for an integrated, ‘Patient-controlled’ environment for natural ventilation, temperature control, lighting levels and privacy options, encouraging individual occupant comfort, control and flexibility.
